James met his wonderful wife Kristin when she came to a Sunday service at the new church he had just planted in Granite City, Illinois (The Resurrection), in the fall of 2011. He had an engagement ring on her finger five crazy months later, and they were married in August of 2012. Today, they raise their young son Edison, and their teenage daughters Grace and Jasha (Jah-SHAY). Lord willing, they hope to continue to expand their young family, and lead them all to trust Jesus. The family lives in downtown Granite City.
Both James and Kristin first believed the Gospel as young adults in their 20’s. Both are trained educators. James has been heavily involved in evangelistic, theological, discipling, and (eventually) pastoral ministries since 2005, with a particular emphasis on the poor and addicted. He has an M.Div from Covenant Theological Seminary (St. Louis, MO), and helped start “Mission: St. Louis,” the non-profit outreach arm of The Journey church. Kristin has experience in African ministries, with a particular heart for orphans and children, as well as for leading women’s discipleship.
